General Atomics Torrey Pines Campus

The main General Atomics campus is located on a 120-acre site in San Diego, California, approximately 15 miles north of downtown's San Diego International Airport, mostly via Interstate 5. It is also about 120 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport, mostly via Interstate 405 (the San Diego Freeway) and Interstate 5. General Atomics is best reached by car or taxi as the public bus and train transportation are not very convenient. There is plenty of lodging in the vicinity of General Atomics. Some hotels offer special rates if you mention General Atomics. Proceed to the Visitor Center for proper badging and site admittance or further help.

DIII-D National Fusion Facility (Building G34)

The DIII-D tokamak is located here in Torrey Pines at GA building G34. It is a center for fusion research and is open to tours during the week, with tours starting from 8:30am to 3pm. You may read more about DIII-D fusion at DIII-D National Fusion Facility (d3dfusion.org).
